This is Jamie Quint's blog covering technology, entrepreneurship, economics, and anything else interesting.

According to recent Yahoo polls over 72% of American adults have considered starting their own business. That is some 107 million individuals (217 million US adults * 68.6% with internet access * 72%), however, there less than a 0.5% conversion rate per year from those who desire to start their own businesses to those that actually do. To put it in practical terms, there is a large gap between thought and action. Thinking, speculating, pondering, these things are easy, doing is hard. The conversion from thought to action is what separates the philosophers from the entrepreneurs, the “if only” speculators from those who accomplish things. As the Bible would say, “Faith without action is dead”.

So how can we come to recognize big goals? Goals that change our lives, how can we become entrepreneurs instead of philosophers, embodying faith IN action. Progression towards goals whether entrepreneurial or personal can all be broken down into small steps. Keep your goals in front of you, remind yourself of them everyday, make a list of small steps you can take in progression towards that goal. Gain momentum by continually moving forward.
